So I hear you have taken up a gig at Nova now? Tell us about your radio
gig.
I will be hosting the Nova Nights show on Nova in Sydney in 2009 with James Kerley.
Was it a major transition for you going from TV to radio?
Surprisingly radio and tele are very different when it comes to being the host. I do love both, but I find I have way more creative freedom on Nova. Radio is live all the time and fast paced... where as with tele, there are a few more restrictions. I do laugh til I nearly cry most days of the week doing radio.
How are you handling being both a MTV VJ and a NOVA host?
I love it all. I really do! I love that I get to do a bit of tele for a rad channel and I love being on air every night on a rad station. It's just as well that I love music, because I get to listen to a heck of a lot of it doing both gigs.
What do you like best about what you do?
I just get to be raw and real all the time. I love that I can just be my silly nutty self on theTV and on radio. I really think that sometimes I have too much fun at work.
I hear you love snowboarding, ever hurt yourself from it?
Actually one of the first lessons I had snowboarding I broke my wrist, it was day 2 of a seven day snow trip too which really sucked - I did spend a lot of time at the bar nursing the break. I also suffered a mild concussion this year in Japan when I got a little too confident and went off a jump I probably shouldn't have, I landed on my head, yes I was wearing a helmet!
So Oprah is one of your heroes? If you were interviewing her, what
would be the first question that you would ask?
Are you serious… I would more than likely faint, but I'd probably kick it all off with, are you nervous??
Give us an exclusive, what is something that the Australian public
do not know about Maz Compton?
I cried when I shot an AK-47 machine gun at The Gun Store in Las Vegas, coz I was so freaked out by it.
You are seemingly a girl on the go and determined sorta chick, what
gives you the motivation to keep going and do great things?
Well we are here for a good time not a long time, so I want to make the most of everyday and life is so much fun when you grab it by the balls.
What would you be doing if you weren't an MTV VJ and now radio presenter?
I would hope that I would be a snowboard instructor in Canada maybe or a travel writer for a glam magazine reviewing all the fab spots in the world on the company's dollars.
Who was the hardest person you ever had to interview and why?
Recently it was Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore from Empire of The Sun, I think they were stoned, it was an interesting chat and a bit awkward at times.
You have had a phenomenal career so far which I am sure apart from
the highlights has been a lot of hard work, what would be your one piece
of advice for girls who want to break into to a similar industry or role?
Find your niche and go for it! I think that being specific about your goals is a really good idea.
Most embarrassing celebrity moment?
I was interviewing Joel Madden from Good Charlotte on the phone for Nova, he was in LA. At the end of the interview we said our goodbyes and as I went to press top on the recording device, I decided to throw in a cheeky whisper of, 'Love You'... Then I hear him giggle and say, 'I didn't' hang up the phone yet!' I was so embarrassed, the only way out of it was to admit that I had always wanted to tell him that I love him and I know I can finally say I did, his reply was, 'I received it and I love you too.'
Highlight of your career so far?
Kanye West loving my shoes.

What is next for you?
I do want to write a book and I'd love to have an action figure made too. Ultimate dream right now is to be the voice of a cartoon character.
