Fat Pets
HarperCollins
With a title like this we could not refuse getting this one in and it is a too cute expose of some of the fattest and, we think, adorable pets. These porky pets are featured in all their glory and some have interesting fat tales to tell. This is a cute, fun coffee table book to pick up and flick through whenever you need a laugh!

Love You Two
by Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli
Random House
This is a story of a not so typical Italian family. Pina is a teen who discovers a taboo family secret that has her questioning her history, her family and herself. This is anot so typical teen tale that delves deep into issues that go far beyond the usual boy/girl angst. Pina's journey of self discovery take her through a myriad of emotions and conflicts. This is a family story and an unravelling of why it is important not to judge and to accept people - supposed flaws and all.

Leftovers
Simon & Schuster
This is absolutely spell-binding. The narrative in the form of what appears to be a police interview of two teen girls recounting events that have obviously led to a crime, but you don't know what the crime is until the very last pages. The telling of the events leading up to this cataclysmic ending nurtures an incredible likeability and loyalty of the two teen characters yet at the same time you are left with the feeling that this event has forever changed who they are and possibly your own feelings towards them.
