Always wanted to adopt the trends of your most adored stars? Wanted to go edgy like Kate Moss, daring like Mischa Barton, or sweet and sassy like Vanessa Hudgens? Well, this month at Bellaboo we have our eye on one fashion trend winning over the wardrobes of the hottest celebs and one that you never would have guessed…tips in?
It's Tartan - unbelievable I know!
I understand what you are thinking: table cloths, drapes, carpets, your Grandpa's vintage blazer, kilts and for some of you, your family's coat of arms. Pretty un- appealing and totally un-cool, right?
That's why we encourage you to snoop around the fashion circuit ( like we have) and see for yourself that some of the world's top designers are loving it and more so, embracing it!
Here we show you how to work this unexpected ultra high-end trend, incorporate it into your already super fash-sav style and show you the who's who of tartan-loving celebs. Check it out!
The Tartan Trade
The tartan trend was big in the 1960's, had a short stint in the 1980's - alongside high shoulder pads (yes, it was a scary time) - and has made its way back into the now.
Emphasising conservative and chic style, the Tartan pattern screams understated elegance.
Expect to see a lot of it! But, it's the united fashion nations of Australia and the U.S, that really use it with a point of difference.
Style Smarts
For any trend that you feel totally unsure about, it is important to introduce it slowly. There is no point spending your money on something you had a bright idea about once and it never saw the light of day.
A great way to do this would be to start with the smaller pieces. At the moment, high-waisted tartan belts are the way to funk up your favourite look or even a cute hair pin would do the trick!

No way! Thats in fashion now?
I love Mischa's outfit - she has amazing style. I think tartan has always been in fashion - its comes down to whether you're brave and confident to pull off the style.
