Who was your role model/s when you were a teen?
My parents have always been my best role models. At school I also had wonderful teachers who were passionate and inspirational. From a journalist's position I greatly admired Anne Deveson and Ita Buttrose who were true trail blazers for female journalists in Australia.

How did your role model/s help you?
They have taught me the importance of a great work ethic and making the very best of every opportunity that comes your way.

What role or influence do you think role models have?
They have a great influence, as during those years many teenagers are very impressionable and vulnerable.

What were some of the issues you faced as a teen?
I was very blessed at school as I didn't experience bullying or peer pressure. The biggest challenges I faced were achieving my own personal and professional goals.

How did you overcome these issues?
Hard work and determination.

What do you remember most about being a teen?
A serious lack of self confidence.

What qualities do you think you possess that has helped you succeed in your chosen field?
Yet again, sheer hard work and determination.

Outside of career success, what is it that you are most proud of?
My family. My sons is by far my greatest achievement to date.

Do you undertake activities to help others/community?
Absolutely. I am very blessed to have two very happy and healthy sons, so I am passionate about supporting Children's Charities. I have also been personally touched by cancer, hence I am an Ambassador for the NSW Cancer Council and the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Network.

Your advice to youths about realising their own potential...
Learn to love and respect yourself. Believe in your own strengths and capabilities and remember to always make the best of every opportunity that comes your way.

When it comes to how you live your life, what are the most important factors/values?
To not only love and respect yourself but also love and respect others. I firmly believe we should care far more for the elderly, we can learn so much from those generations. They understand and appreciate the true meaning of life - love, laughter and happiness.

Why do you think you make a good role model?
I see it as a great honour and privilege to offer assistance and advice. If I can help just one teenager with their life or career goals, then that truly makes my day!
