L.O.V.E
My friend recently made a good point on the overuse and nonchalantness of the word "love". People, myself included, use it for everything.
"Man, I love American Idol."
"Don't you love these shoes?"
"Have you heard that new song on the radio? I love it!"
Guilty. Guilty. Guilty.
What we really need to be saying is, "I really like American Idol." Or, "That new song on the radio is so good!"
Love is a strong word that holds an even stronger meaning. It needs to be used only at the most serious of times; to express the deepest amount of care, passion, and admiration. Love is a bond that no one or no thing can break. I'm pretty sure the next hit song or the next cute Idol contestant will break that so called love the next season. I admittedly use love too, but I have vowed to quit using it on petty things and only on the things that truly matter. Every time I talk to my mom on the phone I say "I love you", or right before bed. Love is meant to give reassurance and to keep a relationship full of trust, honesty, and loyalty alive.
So, my thoughts for you this week Babes is to just be more mindful of when you say "love" and in what context you're using it.
