Winter Warm Up

Winter warm ups!

As the winter months approach, we begin to lose the motivation to exercise even more so than in the summer months. But I have some tricks and tips to keep you exercising even in the cold!

Because the winter months only really span a 10wk period, it is the best opportunity to take up a fitness activity you have never tried before and/or have been dying to try like salsa dancing, indoor rock climbing, pilates, yoga or even indoor soccer or netball. All of these are group activities too so you can bring a friend or two along.

Ensuring that you keep moving throughout winter makes getting into summer exercise just that little bit easier. Also, for a bit of motivation, pre-pay your activities so you can’t bail out without losing out.

Remember that everything in winter is cooler, including your body and its joints so warming up and down as well as stretching are musts to ensure that you don’t hurt yourself. You don’t want to put yourself out at the start of the salsa dancing comp!

Be sure to moisturise inside and out by keeping your fluids up with that H2O and by applying lips balms, hand creams and moisturisers frequently as the cold air tends to dehydrate your skin.

Defeat your inner couch potato this winter!

Just because the weather's colder doesn't mean you don't continue to exercise, drink plenty of water and protect the skin from the temperature!
