Bali Bombers Execution: Right or Wrong?

It is a hot topic here at BB HQ, where our general concensus is that the convicted criminals behind the 2002 Bali bombings who are to be executed as early as today are getting off too lightly!

Whilst there is a dual concern that executing the bali bombers is giving them their freedom and allowing them to pursue their fate as 'martyr's' as their extremist views suggest, we at BB say Hell NO to the death penalty.

The death penalty in our view is totally contradictory. Sure you want these people punished for commiting unforgettable mass murder which involved 202 deaths including 88 Australians, but is killing them for revenge any way to solve it? How is it right? As Australians why are we supporting this topic and giving it so much attention when we dont even enforce the rule here?

In our view consistent solitary confinement is a better form of punishment. Let them stir over what they have done, take the cameras away along with their societal rights.

This is a heavy and controversial topic, while we've had our brag, be sure to tell us yours. Comment below, are you for or against the death penalty and why? What are your thoughts on this case?

I get why there is a death penalty and all but i dont think its right for us to play god why should we get to choose who lives and dies.

You have to remember that they can appeal to be moved to a prison in there own country they have a lot of followers If we could be 100% sure they couldn`t escape this would be great but in reality we don't know that

Ohh... and I dont think the death penalty should always be used just in particularly cases, with terrorist groups or serial killers!!

I'm totally against the death penalty - it's such a complex issue, and we can't always be 100% sure the person convicted is guilty. Plus, I think we're better than that, and we shouldn't lower ourselves to a murderer's level.

Obviously in this case they are guilty, but I think life without parole should be the option.

Hopefully the families will gain some closure from it, but it will also leave another family to mourn a death, and what good can really come from that?

The Bali Bombers are extremists.. but the death penalty isn't too extreme for them they deserve to die and despite there beliefs once your dead your gone for good - from this world anyways.

If they were in jail even for 100 lifetimes (a death sentence) who`s to say they wouldn't escape and hurt or kill more people??

They think they did a great thing, no remorse shows us they would do it again. Death is the best option for these disgusting excuses for human beings, maybe now the victims families can finally have some closure!

Capital punishment is really extreme, it's taking away someone's life. There's alot of differing views about it. Anyways, it's really sad to see that these Bali bombers have no remorse for their actions.
