First Day Nerves No More!

ChatterChick Melissa and her sister, Allison, have this girl's and guy's guide to dealing with that first day back at school...which is now for our babes in US and will be next month for Oz Bellaboobabes.

Remember how stressful and thrilling a first day of school is? The rush to get to class. Forgetting your lunch. Feeling embarrassed when you forget your locker combo? Well emphasize on that stresseful part. We all know it will never be easy to say goodbye to summer and hello to homework. Many people get nerve-wrecked right before school and hopefully this article will help make your first day bearable.

First off, try to get some sleep before you head off to school. Our brains need rest and when the day before school comes, you don't wanna snooze while being introduced to your new teachers (you wanna know what to expect for the rest of the year). Plus if you’re wide awake you can hang out with friends later. Here’s a tip on making sleeping in earlier and waking up at the crack of dawn seem like a piece of cake. Two weeks previous to your starting day go to bed a little earlier each night until you get eight hours of sleep to the time you need to wake up. This is just a trick of making small adjustments that all together make a big impact. Sleep is crucial to success in your curricular life at school!

Once you've got that set, on the day school starts eat a healthy breakfast. Though this may seem cliched your probably better off with eggs and bacon than coffee and a doughnut. The reason is eggs and bacon have protein and good carbohydrates while coffee and a doughnut are caffeine and sugar that will give you a quick sugar high but later make you drowsy and tired. I know some teens drink coffee but try to consider other drinks such as orange juice, it wakes you up and has high levels of viatimin-C. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, we should treat it that way. Don't forget to pack a healthy lunch if you wanna be able to keep your attention on your first day.

Preparation is key but you must remember to take notes during class and get the facts on school supplies. The first day in class is a glimspe of what your future year holds in store for you. Hopefully you do well and intend to focus in school and do as well as you did your first day. Try to remember most of what your teachers tell you, because often it will be of importance later. Try to aim for good habits you can use during your future year.

Don't forget to put on a smile! You may have walked into the wrong class but dont judge yourself too harshly on this as many other teens have done the same. Keep your cool during the day. No one said you had to enjoy the complicated things in school but to just get through it. Stress will only make you feel worse so solve whatever problem is in front of you.

Stay polite, don't judge the first person you lay eyes on. You should be nice to everyone. Even that shy kid in the corner, for you don't know who will stick and stand by you in the future. Look around, you're not the only person who's shaking to death, many others feel as scared as you do and are hiding it. This is the perfect chance to make some new friends, so try to be yourself and let your true colors shine through. It's true that confidence loves company.
Hopefully you made it through the day and even made some new friends. Being confident about your next year is easy! Just relax and enjoy your ride. Have a fab year BellaBoo Babes.
XOXO,
Allison and Melissa Baird
